In the early 80's, when the crack epidemic hit, he lost his father's guidance and teachings to the drug. He lost his virginity to the streets with a lengthy incarcerated sentence ahead of him, and only a high-school diploma to fall back on. Diligently, he set out to write his first novel “No Love Lost,” while the spirit of God provided the faith and the strength to conquer the obstacles he would soon face.

After many years of incarceration, both as a juvenile and an adult, he began taking responsibility for his own actions rather than searching for blame in others.

He is the proud father of three young adults, two girls and a 23 year-old young man. The youngest is graduating high school and set for Texas AM College this semester. Seeing his oldest daughter, who at the age of 16, was in a tragic accident and paralyzed from the waist down, still exuding determination to walk again, gives him motivation to fight harder in becoming a successful provider, entrepreneur, and encouragement to all. The perseverance and dedication within allows him to find guidance in what booklovers anticipate. Shining Starr Publications has several upcoming Author's on their roster.
